While leaving my beloved husband waiting in line for Eggslut, my short hop to Little Tokyo yielded some delicious donuts from Café Dulce.
Cakes Versus
The occasional craving for good cakes often left me lost in the Greater Seattle area.
I used to love Hiroki, but found them getting sweeter over time.
Fumi’s Gold is where I go now; they are better than Regent’s or Yummy House, but it is really not as good as Vancouver, or Japan, or Hong Kong; places like Hoffman’s, Macrina are all too sweet for me.

Basho Cafe
Basho Cafe was the best find in my last trip to Vancouver!
Away from the hustle and bustle of Vancouver downtown, Basho is located in east Vancouver.
The wood decor gave an old style, rustic comfort, reminiscent of Kyoto’s sweets shop, and homeliness of a family run business.
Basho roasts their own coffee, and definitely serves one of the best coffee around.

Last 11 hours in Las Vegas
The last 11 hours was all about Bouchon.
In Las Vegas, there is Bouchon Bistro and Bouchon Bakery, both in the Venetian.
Being part of the Thomas Keller empire which includes the famous French Laundry in Yountville and Per Se in New York, Bouchon Bistro is the casual dining option, with shops in New York, Las Vegas, Yountville and Beverley Hills.
We woke up early and hiked to Bouchon Bistro which is secretly tucked away on the 4th floor of the Venetian, away from the casino and away from the busy lobby.
The stunning red sign showed us of our arrival; with very high ceiling, the space was almost cavernous with decor reminiscing real Parisian bistros.
