Luc

Rover’s, now closed for many years, used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle; its intricate food and well-designed tasting menu was one of the best in town.

Since its closure, Rover’s owner, Thierry Rautureau has opened Luc, in Madison Valley near the old Rover’s, and Loulay in downtown Seattle.

Truthfully, the low rating Luc received has deterred me from trying them out.

But the back of head always wonder, can it really be that bad if I really enjoyed Rovers?

Off we went to brunch, and it was delightful.

The foie gras was seared perfectly with soft and creamy center and crisp outer layer, paired with contrary hard texture from the squash that were a little undercook.

Last 11 hours in Las Vegas

The last 11 hours was all about Bouchon.

In Las Vegas, there is Bouchon Bistro and Bouchon Bakery, both in the Venetian.

Being part of the Thomas Keller empire which includes the famous French Laundry in Yountville and Per Se in New York, Bouchon Bistro is the casual dining option, with shops in New York, Las Vegas, Yountville and Beverley Hills.

We woke up early and hiked to Bouchon Bistro which is secretly tucked away on the 4th floor of the Venetian, away from the casino and away from the busy lobby.

The stunning red sign showed us of our arrival; with very high ceiling, the space was almost cavernous with decor reminiscing real Parisian bistros.
